Honoring a loved one at your Wedding- Elegant and inexpensive

My grandmother passed away 3 years ago and we were extremely close. I think of her through every step of the way, the good and the bad. I recently got engaged, and as I get closer to my wedding day, I can't help but think of her. Therefore, I keep looking for creative ways to honor her on my wedding day without turning my special day into a funeral.

I am also a bride on a tight budget and after investing thousands of hours on the internet trying to get ideas, I realized that honoring her in a special way would be way out of my budget. That is until one day I came up with a brilliant idea! I drove to downtown los angeles (flower mart) and bought a small miniature branch tree for $10.00. Because my wedding colors are silver and white, I asked the sales person if they could paint the branches Silver. They only charged me $1.00. I then went to Moskatels Craft Store also located in downtown los angeles and bought a bag of crystals to hang ($5.00), clear plastic ribbon ($1.00), and white candles ($2.00 each). I spent under $20.00!

I came home and printed a couple of black and white photographs of my grandmother and I throughout the years, used a hole puncher to punch a hole on top, wrapped the clear wire to hang the photos, and hot glued a silver bow to cover the hole. I then hung the crystals all over in different sizes and created an elegant Memorial tree of my grandmother to honor her in a unique and special way. I will have a separate table for only her memorial tree, along with two clear vases with crystals and white candles inside them. The vases were $1.00 at the Dollar tree and i used left over crystals to put in them. I hope this helps all of you unique brides on a budget!
